چکیده

Received: 15 December 2004; Revised: 26 January 2005 Abstract Copper zinc oxide catalysts prepared similar to industrially used catalysts were studied by high-resolution electron microscopy. The microstructure of the Cu/ZnO catalysts deviates considerably from that of bulk copper metal and idealized copper model systems. In order to reveal reliable structure-activity relationships for copper catalysts in methanol chemistry, future model systems need to take the “real” structure of active copper catalysts into account.

Supercritical Antisolvent Precipitation of Amorphous Copper–Zinc Georgeite and Acetate Precursors for the Preparation of Ambient‐Pressure Water‐Gas‐Shift Copper/Zinc Oxide Catalysts

A series of copper-zinc acetate and zincian georgeite precursors have been produced by supercritical CO2 antisolvent (SAS) precipitation as precursors to Cu/ZnO catalysts for the water gas shift (WGS) reaction. The amorphous materials were prepared by varying the water/ethanol volumetric ratio in the initial metal acetate solutions. Water addition promoted georgeite formation at the expense of ...

Investigation of zinc oxide additive on the dielectric properties and microstructure of titanium oxide ceramic

In recent years, research into materials with high dielectric constants, including doped titanium oxide, has increased because of the potential for modern microelectronics applications and high-density energy storage. The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of zinc oxide as an acceptor additive on the dielectric properties and microstructure of titanium oxide ceramics. The amount o...

Characterization of Copper-Manganese Oxide Catalysts and Their Precursors: Effect of Precipitate Aging upon the Structure and Morphology of Precursors and Catalysts

Copper-manganese oxide catalysts are prepared with an atomic ratio of Cu/Mn=2/1 using a coprecipitation procedure under air atmosphere. The time of aging, i.e., the time that precipitate remains in contact with the precipitating medium, has been varied from 0 (for unaged precursor) to 300 minutes and the effect of precipitate aging time in each atmosphere upon the structure and morphology of di...

Microstructural characterization of Cu/ZnO/Al2O3 catalysts for methanol steam reforming - A comparative study

Microstructural characteristics of various real Cu/ZnO/Al2O3 catalysts for methanol steam reforming (MSR) were investigated by in situ X-ray diffraction (XRD), in situ X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS), temperature programmed reduction (TPR) and electron microscopy (TEM). Structure–activity correlations of binary Cu/ZnO model catalysts were compared to microstructural properties of the ternar...

Effect of Oxide Coating on Performance of Copper-Zinc Oxide-Based Catalyst for Methanol Synthesis via Hydrogenation of Carbon Dioxide

The effect of oxide coating on the activity of a copper-zinc oxide-based catalyst for methanol synthesis via the hydrogenation of carbon dioxide was investigated. A commercial catalyst was coated with various oxides by a sol-gel method. The influence of the types of promoters used in the sol-gel reaction was investigated. Temperature-programmed reduction-thermogravimetric analysis revealed that...
